Principals Generals under the Ogun Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) in the four zonal divisions of the state, have been presented brand new official cars for the first time coming through under the Dapo Abiodun-led administration.
The State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun who presented the cars at Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta said that as a son of a teacher, he could not help to see that teachers demands were not met, hence, the need to expedite action on the delivery of promise made.
The governor who was represented by the Head of Service, Dr Nafiu Aigoro said, “this gesture is an attestation to the fact that the present administration is concerned about the welfare of teachers saying teachers in turn should reciprocate the gesture by being dutiful at work”.
In his remark, Chairman, TESCOM, Evang. Olalekan Ifede stated that the new development was a wake-up call for those who aspire to be principal general, adding that the fit was now worth striving for especially with the kind of recognition that officers in this capacity were getting.
“This is another promise kept by this administration and more is still coming, it is my appeal to all teaching and non-teaching staff being managed by TESCOM, to give their support for the government of the day. Again it would be recalled that only recently, TESCOM had its Inter-Service and Inter cadre interview for junior officers which is another testimony to the dedication of the governor to education,” he said.
