The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ogun says it has deployed over 2,725 personnel across the state to ensure adequate security during the festive period.

Mr Kolawole Taiwo, the State Commandant of NSCDC , stated this during a news conference in Abeokuta on Thursday.

Taiwo said that the command had declared total war on hoodlums, miscreants, vandals and perpetrators of crime across length and breath of the state.

He noted that the year had been challenging, saying that the corps alongside other security agencies had been able to curtail the excesses of criminals through a collaborative effort.

The commandant added that the NSCDC would deploy massively his intelligent and tactical teams to contain these anomalies alongside other security agencies before, during and after the celebrations.

“The Corps Counter-Terrorist Unit, Special Female Sqaud, Rapid Response Squad, the Armed Squad, the Agro-Rangers Team and the newly constituted Operations in the State will join forces to make the celebration a hitch-free one.

“The command will be out before, during and after this festive seasons especially at all highly populated centres like markets, critical national assets, correctional centres, worship centres, schools, institutions of higher learnings, hospitals, and a host of other public places across the state,”he said.

He also warned personnel of the corps against any act unworthy of a security officer as such reports would be decisively handled and whoever got involved would be severely dealt with.

He therefore advised all residents to celebrate with all sense of moderation and also warned them to take their security very important.

He also advised them to report any happening promptly to any nearby security agency for immediate action.
