The Governorship Candidate of Peoples Redemption Party (PRP),in Ogun, Cyrus Johnson, has dissociated himself from the news trending on the Social Media and other Media Platform that the party had endorsed Gov. Dapo Abiodun for second term in office.
The PRP governorship candidate in the state stated this in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta on Wednesday.
He stated the purported endorsement was on social media on Tuesday, saying it was false.
” This is to bring to the notice of the general public that the purported meeting was for the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Ogun State Chapter of which it’s State Chairman (Engr. Samson Okusanya) happens to be the Ogun State PRP Chairman as well.
” I was in a meeting with my party Chairman in person of Engr. Samson Okusanya when he was called for IPAC meeting with the Secretary to the State Government of Ogun State (Mr. Tokunbo Talabi) and told me to join him as an Observer at the meeting.
” Unexpectedly to me, the issue of endorsement came up.
” However, in the State IPAC Chairman statement, there is no where he mentioned PRP or it’s Governorship Candidate being part of the said Endorsement.
” My presence at the meeting was a mistake and I accept my fault.
” This is to re – assure our Party Faithfuls and the General Public that I have not in any form endorsed Prince Dapo Abiodun for a Second Term in office.
