The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun Command, on Monday, decorated 48 of its promoted officers with their new ranks.
The Sector Commander, Mr Ahmed Umar, who performed the decoration, said that all the officers merited their new ranks.
Umar announced the new ranks to include Deputy Corps Marshal, Assistant Corps Commander, Chief Route Commander, Superintendent Route Commander, Route Commander and Deputy Route Commander.
He urged the officers to allow their new ranks to spur them on to discharge their duties with renewed vigour, saying that the command expected more work and commitment from them.
He further advised the newly decorated officers to exercise more caution and become more professional in the discharge of their duties.
He further charged them to be grateful to God, saying that only He could uplift any individual rather than man.
The sector commander thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for approving the promotion and appreciated the Corps Marshal, Mr Dauda Biu, for the role he played in actualising the promotion.
The Ogun Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alhaji Waheed Odusile, urged the promoted officers to be focused and see their new positions as another challenge in their lives.
Odusile, whose wife was also decorated, further charged the officers to always act professionally when dealing with the general public.
One of the decorated officers, Mrs Florence Okpe, promised to continue to show more dedication to her duties.
“It is not easy but all glory belongs to God almighty.
“I will try my best to give back to the corps for the rank conferred on me and what is expected of me,” Okpe said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that representatives of sister security agencies in the state attended the ceremony. (NAN)(www.nannews.ng)
