One person died while three others sustained varying degrees of injuries in an accident involving two trucks at SWAT office, opposite OOPL on the Abeokuta -Sagamu expressway.
Mrs Florence Okpe, the Spokesperson, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, confirmed the incident in a statement in Abeokuta on Friday.
Okpe explained that the incident occured at 4:20a.m and it involved a Zino truck and a Volvo truck with no registration numbers.
She noted that the suspected causes of the crash were brake failure and loss of control, leading to the collision of the two trucks.
She said that nine men were involved in the accident, saying one person died while three people sustained injuries.
The FRSC spokesperson added that the injured victims were taken to State Hospital, Ijaiye, Abeokuta, while the deceased was deposited at the Morgue of same hospital.
She quoted the Sector Commander, Akinwunmi Fasakin, to have advised motorists to ensure they perform daily morning check on their vehicles before heading out.
” He further advised motorists and passengers to put safety first while using the roads,” Okpe said.
