
The police command in Ogun says it has rescued a motorcyclist, Ahmed Owolabi from bleeding to death after he was inflicted with deep blade cut on his neck by his passenger while on motion.
CPS Omolola Odutola, the Command’s Spokesperson disclosed this in a statement in Abeokuta on Saturday.
Odutola noted that the incident occured at 4:15p.m at Orange estate, Arepo on Saturday.
She explained that one Alani Muritala, a resident of Shefu Elede, Ibafo, came to the police station to report that Owolabi, 27, from Onimane Magada Ibafo, had been injured by one Sherif Oyeniyi.
She added that Oyeniyi lives at 44 Association Road, Orange Estate, Voera, Arepo, Ogun State.
Odutola said that the Alani told police that Owolabi was conveying Oyeniyi to his destination in Arepo, then suddenly Oyeniyi attacked him with a razor blade, inflicting severe deep cuts on his neck in two separate locations.
” The Divisional Police Officer when alerted quickly rushed to the scene, transported the victim to a hospital for medical attention.
” The suspect has been taken into custody for questioning. Notably, the suspect displayed no remorse for his actions.
” When questioned, the suspect said he had earlier visited a seer otherwise known as a voodoo doctor.
” He was interrogated if the doctor required blood token or initiation, he replied by saying “it was the devil’s handiwork.
” The Divisional Crime Branch is conducting an investigation, and the suspect will be charged to court as soon as investigations is completed.
