Olowu of Owu-Abeokuta, Oba (Prof.) Saka Adelola Matemilola has stressed the need for both the Egbas and Aworis living in Sango, Ado-Odo/Otta Local Government Area of Ogun State to always live peacefully with each other.
Oba Matemilola made the call when some elders from Sango presented to him in his Oke Ago Owu palace in Abeokuta, Prince Olusanjo Olurebi as their choice for the vacant stool of Onisango of Sango in Ado- Odo /Otta Local Government Area of the State
Addressing the leading contestant for the vacant stool of Onisango of Sango, Prince Olurebi , Oba Matemilola said he would continue to reach out to Olota of Ota , Oba (Prof.) Kabir Obalenge , so as to sustain the peaceful co-existence, saying those causing formenting trouble are benefiting from such crisis for selfish interest at expense of the people
” I have a good relationship with the Olota of Ota he is my friend, so their’s no problem between us. I know that there are some individuals who does not like this, they don’t want peace in the area, that’s where they’re eating from, between the palaces, we will handle them. The first world war, the second world war ended with sitting down at the round table for peace talk, that’s how we will end the crisis, we will sit down and talk peace and shame those beating the drums of war in the area”.
“Sango is an area that’s economically important, the area need peace”.
The monarch urged Prince Olusanjo Olurebi , to see leadership as a huge task which requires wisdom from God, promising to work closely with Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo to sort out things , as regards the vacant stool
“Leadership is a huge task ,you need the wisdom from God, a big purse and need to be influential, I know you have all these, so you are qualified. Between me and the Alake we will sort every other thing out”
Responding Prince Olusanjo Olurebi who was marvelled with the humility, accessibility and straight forwardness of the Olowu, promised never to be far from the monarch, whom he described as a worthy role model, if he eventually ascends the stool of Onisango of Sango
