The Ogun State Professional Photographers and Videographers Association of Nigeria (OGSPPAVAN), through the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, has thrown its weight behind the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for a second term in office to appreciate his good governance and unfathomable achievements.
Speaking shortly after a supportive rally around Abeokuta metropolis for the Governor, OGSPPAVAN President, Mr Lasisi Oyetunji at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, said as part of activities to celebrate the Association’s Day, it deemed it fit to publicize the Governor’s activities in State and why he should be re-elected by the good people of the State to continue the good works.
Mr Oyetunji stated further that the support for the Governor is also to ensure that OGSPPAVAN is given autonomous recognition to allow it to function more legally in tandem with the peaceful agenda of the Ogun State Government, adding that the Association has been in existence for over forty years with 9 districts and 49 zones across all Local Governments in the State.
Responding, Governor Abiodun said the Association has made a great history in the State, with the support given to him to make the mission and vision of his administration a reality.
Represented by his Commissioner in the Community Development and Cooperative Ministry, Hon. Abayomi Hunye, the State’s helmsman assured the Association of its full support in career empowerment through accessibility to soft loans and improved professionalism.
Delivering her speech, the State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo said the State Government recognizes the contributions of the Association to the growth and socio-economic development of the State, noting that without documentation in form of photos and Video, history cannot be complete, hence the support from the State Government to strengthen the ties.
She assured that the Ministry would continue to provide support and recognition to the association to boost the economy and stability of the Association.
