The  Chairman of Inter- Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Ogun State, Abayomi Sanyaolu has reaffirmed the council would be deeply committed to upholding the principles of impartiality, fairness and inclusiveness.

Sanyaolu stated this on Tuesday  during the inauguration of the new Executive members of IPAC held at the INEC office, Magbon, Abeokuta.

He called on Gov. Dapo Abiodun and politicians in the state to give honor to the body.

He noted  that IPAC was not established to work for any political party, adding that it remains an open body to all political parties.

Sanyaolu said ” the  name IPAC is not APC , is  not PDP,  all the political parties in Nigeria formed IPAC

“So in any states, you can not use IPAC to endorse anybody,  if you want to do anything you can use other groups. Under my leadership,  i want  all the politicians , political bodies and traditional institutions  to see IPAC as a body that they need to work with as to help in developing the state so that is the assignment of IPAC, that is if Government does well, we will praise them and if they fail , we will challenge them.

“The unveiling of the  educational support  initiative today is to let Government know that we IPAC have plans for the people of the state. It is not only Government that will be doing alone, we as a body must contribute our quota, what we are gaining from Government, we have to share it out to the people, that is we have to encourage all other party chairmen and other politicians that we need to do some important things. Education is the best legacy, the note books would be distributed to the 236 wards in the state. We are using that opportunity to seek  support from the government, philanthropists , politicians within the state and outside the state to give us support so that we can achieve our aims and objectives. He concluded.

“As the new  IPAC chairman , i am deeply committed to upholding the principles of impartiality, fairness and inclusivity. I believe that through constructive engagement and open dialogue, we can address the challenges facing our nation and chart a path towards sustainable development and prosperity for all.

“I invite each and every one of you to actively participate in the activities and initiatives of IPAC. Your insights, ideas and perspectives are invaluable as we work together to strengthen our democratic institutions and build a brighter future for generations to come.

“Let us you this inauguration meeting as an opportunity to reaffirm our dedication to the ideals of democracy, unity and progress. Together , we have the power to shape a political structure , that is rooted  in integrity , guided by principles  and responsive to the needs of our people.

“In closing, i extend my sincere gratitude to the founding members of IPAC, past chairmen and all those who have contributed to the growth and success of this council. Your tireless efforts have laid a strong foundation upon which we will continue to build and thrive”.

Meanwhile, the Governor Of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun promised to keep this  doors open for IPAC, and other political parties in the State.

Abiodun who was represented by his  Media Consultant, Hon Tunde Oladunjoye disclosed this while speaking with newsmen.

He said “I wish to most respectfully Congratulate the new chairman and  executives of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (I-PAC), Ogun State Chapter.

“I must commend the peaceful nature of the last election whichA was free and fair. We commend the spirit of the winners and losers of the lectin. And from reports at our disposal, there was actually no losers as reconciliation has been made.

“We want to assure you that the government shall continue  to provide a level playing ground as already demonstrated so far.

“The Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) is the umbrella body of all the registered Political Parties in Nigeria. A platform for the promotion and sustenance of a free, fair, credible, transparent, acceptable, inclusive and peaceful electoral environment in Nigeria.

‘It promotes the conduct of political contests devoid of rancour and emphasizes the values of tolerance, sound conduct, a spirit of accommodation and teamwork in planning or organizing political competition with a view to strengthening and deepening the nation’s emerging democracy

“The above description of IPAC tallies totally with the political belief and style of administration of Prince Dapo Abiodun who is well known for his inclusiveness style of politics, the politics of Omoluabi that has reduced the political heat in Ogun State almost to a near zero.

“We state categorically that IPAC is not an opposition body. It is not expected to be. However, while the individually parties can criticise or oppose the party or government in power, IPAC cannot and should not be seen as an opposition. The body should be seen as a partner in progress who must exhaust all possible internal measures to interact with the government of the day.

“The government will continue to keep its doors open to IPAC as a body and even individual members/political parties for collaboration and cooperation.

“We are also using this occasion to appreciate the Independent National Electoral Commission  for its laudable roles so far.

“Thank you all for the good words and compliments to our government, even as we assure you that we shall not rest on our oars.

Also the Representative of Independent Electoral Commission, INEC in Ogun State, Mr Thomas commended the body for cooperating with INEC during the election, saying that the election was free, fair and transparent.

He urged the new executive members to be committed towards taking Ogun IPAC to a greater height.
