The Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development has stated that no additional cost would be incurred on Building Authorisations, Stage-to-Stage Certifications, as well as Certificate of Completion and Fitness to Use by developers and construction owners who have obtained necessary planning permit from the State Planning and Development Permit Authority.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Engr. Olayiwola Abiodun made this known while presenting building authorisation to the developer handling the construction of the UNICEF-funded Central Medical Warehouse and Office Complex, located outside the State Secretariat in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
Engr. Abiodun, who urged members of the public to leverage the Ministry’s existing pool of experts in the ‘’built industry’’, stated that the presentation of the authorisation document for the construction of the warehouse was part of the monitoring and enforcement exercise of the Ogun State Building Production Management Authority (OGBPMA).
He added that officials of the Authority had also presented a Certificate of Completion and Fitness to Use to a new generation commercial bank in Abeokuta, a building authorisation to commence construction of a commercial building in Mowe, as well as an inspection tour and presentation of stage certification to a company at Mowe, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
“There is a need to obtain all the necessary documents, but the permits alone do not give the audacity to start the project without carrying Ogun State Building Production Management Authority along throughout the stage-to-stage process of development”, he reiterated.
