Ogun assembly wants Govt. to rename High Court road, Sagamu after late lawmaker , Onanuga

Ogun House of Assembly has passed a resolution calling on the State Government to immortalise the late former Deputy Chief Whip , House of Representatives, Adewunmi Onanuga.

The assembly urged the state government to rename the High Court road, Sagamu after the late lawmaker.

The passage of the resolution followed the debate led by the sponsor, Damilare Bello ( PDP -Sagamu 1) and supported by other lawmakers. 

They extolled the virtue of the late Federal lawmaker, describing her as a distinguished daughter of the state who contributed to the development of the state and the nation.

Onanuga, who represented  Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency died on January 15 at the age of 59.

In the same vein, the Assembly also paid glowing tributes to some eminent Nigerians from the state, who died in the last two weeks.

They commended their  unwavering commitment to their communities, the state and the nation. 

Former Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo (APC-Ifo1) had reported the demise of foremost industrialist,  Ogooluwa Bankole, who established Premier Paint Industry since 1985.

The Minority Leader,  Adeleye Lukman (PDP-Odoogbolu), also reported the exit of Pa Ayo Adebanjo,whom he said

dedicated his life to fighting for justice and truth. 

On his part, the Majority Leader,  Yusuf Sheriff(APC-Ado Odo Ota 1)  paid tribute to late Sen. Solomon Otegbola, whom he described as a political leader of repute.

Sheriff explained that the late Senator  represented Ogun West Senatorial District in the third republic. 

The  lawmakers led by the Speaker, Oludaisi Elemide (APC-Odeda) shared heartfelt tributes to all the deceased and also observed a minute silence in their honour.
