A Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), the Kind Purse Foundation on Saturday , took about 60 less privilege children in Abeokuta to a fast-food restaurant for them to celebrate and enjoy a good Christmas meal.
Speaking with newsmen at the restaurant, Mrs Moyosoluwa Adekoya, the Founder, explained that it was important to celebrate the season with the less privileged in the society.
Adekoya noted that apart from the children eating whatever they preferred, they would also play games and also go home with gifts from the foundation.
She added that education remained the bedrock of any developed nation, saying that the children would also be lectured on the importance of education to there lives.
“We are having a memorable christmas party for the children on the street. I believe they do not have access to all these things, that is why the foundation is giving them the opportunity.
“Let them come, let them enjoy themselves. Most of them I see them hanging around the street, so we decided to give them pass to come in and enjoy themselves.
“We want them to have a memorable christmas like there other mates that there parents can afford it.
“It will spur something in them and it will give them life as well, they want to become somebody, they want to have access to such a place,” she said.
Adekoya called on other well meaning individuals, groups, philanthropist and politicians to key into the gesture, saying that the less privileged also deserved to be happy.
