Professor Okwelle represented by Dr. R.A Soyele, the Provost of the Federal College of Education Abeokuta disclosed this during the inaugural Conference organized by the Association of Nigerian Colleges of Education Professional Administrators (ANCOEPA).
The event, themed “Engendering Productivity through Work Ethics,” took place on Tuesday at the Federal College of Education Abeokuta.
Professor Okwelle commended the establishment of ANCOEPA during his tenure as the NCCE Executive Secretary, recognizing its potential to enhance member development through regular conferences, workshops, and seminars.
He encouraged administrators in Colleges of Education to participate actively in this valuable initiative.
According to him “the birthing of ANCOEPA during his tenure as the Executive Secretary NCCE, was laudable and a welcomed idea as the Association would assist in developing its members especially through periodic organisation of Conferences, Workshops and Seminars. He therefore advised Administrators in Colleges of Education to be a part of this innovation.”
Dr. R.A Soyele, in his welcome address, highlighted the Federal College of Education Abeokuta’s distinguished history as the first tertiary institution in Ogun State, founded in 1976.
He stated that the institution has maintained uninterrupted academic sessions and earned a reputation as the most peaceful tertiary institution and a centre of excellence.
He congratulated all ANCOEPA inductees and participants, extending his best wishes for productive discussions during the conference.
Dr. G.A Adebayo, the host and Registrar of the Federal College of Education Abeokuta, elaborated on ANCOEPA’s purpose, which is to provide administrators in the Colleges of Education system with a platform to exchange ideas in line with global best practices.
He emphasized that the conference offered an opportunity for participants to enhance their knowledge and professionalism.
He also urged attendees to explore the attractions of FCE Abeokuta, a renowned centre of excellence.
Alhaji Abdulkareem Bello Norde, Chairman of the Committee of Registrars in Colleges of Education in Nigeria (CORECOEN), expressed gratitude to ANCOEPA’s leadership for fostering the association’s growth and to the Federal College of Education Abeokuta for hosting the maiden conference.
