The Muslim community in Ogun State has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the development and progress of the state.
The League of Imams and Alfas, representing the Muslim community, has pledged to collaborate closely with Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration to address critical areas that require further focus.
Abiodun was inaugurated for his second term in office on Monday, May 29, 2023, following his victory at the Governorship election held on Saturday, March 18, 2023.
Congratulating Abiodun on his significant milestone, the President of the League of Imams and Alfas in Ogun State, Shaykh Sikirullahi Babalola, along with the entire congregation, expressed their heartfelt congratulations.
A congratulatory statement signed by Secretary General of the League of Imams and Alfas, Shaykh Tajudeen Mustapha Adewunmi, read that the league commended Abiodun for his exceptional service during his first term.
The statement read “the President of the League of Imams and Alfas (Rabittah), Ogun State Chapter, Shaykh Sikirullahi Babalola, members of the League and the entire congregation of the Muslims in Ogun State heartily rejoice with you on your victory at the 2023 Governorship election of Saturday 18th March, 2023 and the inauguration of your second term in office on Monday 29th May, 2023.
“Your Excellency Sir, the victory at the polls is no doubt part of the mercies of Allah bestowed upon you. Your records of quality service to the people of Ogun State during the first term in office ultimately gave the people confidence to entrust you with the future of the state once again.
“In the days ahead, we shall present our thoughts on critical areas that require more focus to engender good governance, as we resolve to sustain our partnership with Your Excellency in moving our dear State forward.
“May Almighty Allah give you the required wisdom, knowledge and the wherewithal to fulfil the aspirations and needs of the people of Ogun State in a bid to take the State to a greater height among the comity of states in Nigeria.
