Lagos Governor’s Aide Tasks IFAKO IJAYE ESTATE Agents on Accountability, Transparency in business

Eng. Adekunle Olayinka, Special Adviser to Lagos State Governor , Babajide Sanwo-Olu on works, has called on members of IFAKO IJAYE ESTATE MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION, LASEMA to adhere strictly to the spirit of honesty, transparency and accountability in carrying out their day-to-day transactions.

Olayinka, who was represented by Mr Lekan Obayomi said this on Saturday in Lagos during the End of the Year Party of IFAKO IJAYE LASEMA held at Nureni Yusuf Complex, Killington, Alagbado.

” I want to implore members of IFAKO IJAYE LASEMA to be honest , transparent and be accountable in dealing with their clients inorder to be able to gain their confidence,” he said.

The Special Adviser, who commended the present leadership of the body under the watchful eyes of its President, Prince Kolawole Esho, recalled what used to be the negative perception of Agents by members of the public before his advent, said a lot of changes are taking place.

“Prior to this time, many agents engage in shaddy practices by fleecing clients and house owners of their entitlements.”

He implored members to keep up the spirit of honest and truthfulness in managing the properties given to them to manage so that there can be progress.

Also, Hon. Emmanuel Olotu, member Lagos State House of Assembly, who was represented by Mr Felix Okocha, urged members to remain committed to the rules of engagement by being honest and truthful, saying”agency business is a lucrative one, if they can carry it on with integrity.”

Earlier on, Esho in his welcome address commended his members for their support and dedication to duty.

“I have always been telling my members to be honest, transparent and be accountable,” he said.

He promised to continue with the job of sanitizing the body so that there would be no room for quacks and crooks to operate in the profession.

Mr Bola Amosu, who represented the Chairman of Ifako Ojokoro Local Government, Mr Idowu Tijanni, donated a sum of N100,000 to the body as directed by his boss, while commending members for their new approach to work under Esho.

SP Felix Lawal, Divisional Police Officer(DCO) Alakuko, called on members to always stand on truth.

“I am happy that I am here. All I know is that anybody who is truthful will do well, but I have not done any case-file concerning agents. I always settle the matters arising for them,” he said

While urging the agents to remain honest in their transactions, he urged them to be on agreement with whoever they transacting business with.

Alhaji Ade Akin, former President of the body thanked the invited guests for honouring the invitation extended to them before donating a sum of N20,000.

Other dignitaries at the event are Chief Mrs Nwokolo, Mr Abuche, High Chief Ojewuyi and Igwe I.K Daunsi.

Highlights of the event include presentation of Certificates to members and cash donation by invited guests.
