The news of the Federal Government of Nigeria taking over the management and control of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) from the Ogun State Government came as a surprise to many Ijebu sons and daughters, who received the cheering news as a welcome development. This is the first federal tertiary institution in Ogun East Senatorial district. This also makes TASUED the first Federal University of Education in Nigeria.
TASUED was established in 2005 by H.E. Otunba Gbenga Daniel,FNSE when he was the Executive Governor of Ogun State. Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, FNSE wrote his name in gold by establishing the first University of Education in Nigeria and Second in Africa. The legacy of OGD is enduring and evergreen.
Congratulations to H.E. Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel, FNSE because the history of TASUED (now, Tai Solarin Federal University of Education, TASFUED) cannot be written without the mention of the name of Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel for his visionary and purposeful leadership.
This great feat cannot be achieved without the support, consent and collaboration of the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON. Congratulations Sir, for deeming it fit to release TASUED to the Federal Government and putting Ogun State at the top of the table in Nigeria. This is another achievement recorded by your administration. Kudos to your Excellency Sir. This is a well thought-out and wise decision. Posterity will forever be grateful to you Sir. The entire youths of yoruba land will continually be grateful to you Sir for making the South West proud of having the first University of Education resident within our land.
We sincerely appreciate the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebu land for his royal and fatherly support for this laudable achievement.
Our immense appreciation goes to the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, H.E. Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR for his love for education and particularly, Ijebu land. The entire Yoruba Youths are grateful for making the whole world to know that Yoruba land maintains the lead in Education in Nigeria, this was the legacy of the late Sage Chief Obafemi Awolowo.
