Former President Olusegun Obasanjo joined other stand-up comedians to crack the ribs of guests and fun seekers as he performed at a comedy show organised by Olamilekan Abegunde, popularly known as Dr. Smile.
Obasanjo had joined other comedians like Alibaba, Funnybone, Senatorcomedian and Babaalariya, among others at the March edition of the “Why Not Smile” comedy show held within the premises of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta.
The former President who graced the occasion obliged Alibaba and Dr. Smile who had teased him to take the mic and perform on stage.
The “Ebora Owu” who spoke in English and pidgin threw “jabs” at Alibaba and Dr. Smile, saying “Na jeje I sit down for house when Vitalis (Obasanjo’s aide) call me say make I come here and I no know say Alibaba go dey here.
“I no know say Alibaba go come here, if I know say Alibaba go come here, I for no come because Ali baba go don tell many lies against me”, Obasanjo said.
The former President who went on to praise creatives in the entertainment industry and advised them to continue to stay true to their course.
Dr. Smile while responding to Obasanjo jokingly described him as an “upcoming act”, saying “We don’t have any money to pay, we don’t pay upcoming comedians, we just appreciate them for coming”.
He appreciated Obasanjo for supporting the entertainment industry.
