Commissioner urges Ogun students to engage in reasonable, positive dialogue process

Students and youths have been charged to always engage in reasonable and positive dialogue process in demanding for the change they want.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Arigbabu who gave this charge during a courtesy call to his office by the Executive of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), urged them to come up with suggestions that are capable of enabling the government to come up with policies that would improve the lives of youths in the State.

Professor Arigbabu promised to ensure a workable synergy between the government and all heads of institutions, while pointing out that the yearnings of the students has come to the notice of the present administration in the State and the government was doing all within its capacity to attend to them. from the previous meetings they have had with the bodies of students union, they have been able to identified the yearnings and wants of students and that they have highlighted ways to achieve them.

“I appreciate the students in the state for your maturing and intelligence in getting your demands across, but as government we still seek more of your support, co-operation and peace to provide and better the lives of students and youths of Ogun State”, the commissioner called.

Speaking, the State Chairman of NANS, Mr. Tomiwa Bamgbose while assuring the utmost support of all students in the state towards the successful tenure of the Prince Dapo Abiodun led-administration, promising that they will be of good conducts and behaviour.

Mr. Bamgbose called on government to intensified efforts in the sector especially in the higher education sector, he pointed out that youths that are not trained and adequately provided for will turn into miscreants in the society, he therefore enjoined all stakeholders to ensure that youths are well catered for.

Earlier, during the courtesy call by the principal generals in the state, the Commissioner said that teachers and students welfare can never be overemphasized, where he pointed out that teachers must be appreciated for a wonderful job they have been doing.

He said that the Governor Dapo Abiodun led-administration is an action-oriented government, therefore all hands must be on deck to ensure that standard are restored and maintained as the former.
