Ogun Lawmaker, Egungbohun Disburses Cash, Empower Constituents
A member of the ogun State House of Assembly Hon. Wahab Haruna Abiodun Egungbohun has empowered the people of his constituency by giving them financial assistance to boost their economic status.
Aside from the cash empowerment, he also donated a gas cylinder as additional gift to the money.
Hon. Wahab explained that the gesture was parts of his campaign promises towards the development of his constituency and to alleviate the suffering of his people adding that the “Women Cash Empowerment” is necessary so that they (women) can start something on their own.
Egungbohun, representing Ketu Constituency II in Yewa North presented the donation at the empowerment Programme tagged “Providing opportunities to develop employability and resilience among women in my constituency” held at Oja Odan in Yewa North Local Government of the state.
The lawmaker explained that the empowerment will reduce the rates of unemployment in the state especially in his constituency.
According to him “Apart from this women cash empowerment that we are doing here today, it is also in my plan to empower men in my constituency.
“I will soon start the men’s own, I will empower them especially the farmers among them, I am going to buy special equipments to assist them, I will also look beyond farmers, everyone will benefit from my next empowerment programme, I believe the little I am going to give them they will all appreciate it.
Wahab equally reiterates his promised to carry women along saying that the programme is one of his blueprint to empower women advising them to utilize the opportunity by ensuring that the money is well spent on their businesses.
He added that the gesture is a continuous programme adding that he will ensure that the dividends of democracy reach his communities people.
In his remarks, the local government chairman of ADC in Yewa North, Chief Isikalu Jackson advised the beneficiaries not to mismanaged the opportunity given them.
He therefore assured those that did not benefit to remain calm saying that another set of people will be empower very soon.
One of the beneficiaries who is also the constituency women leader in Ebute, Mrs Ayo Felix appreciated the Honourable for the good mind he has for his people in the communities, promising that they will ensure that the money is used to promote their respective businesses.
