Journalists should dig out errors, proffer solutions- Cleric

We need journalists who will dig out errors in the system and profer solutions says Minister

The importance of investigative journalism for national development cannot be over emphasized, hence the need for journalists who will take the bull by the horn, dig out errors in the society and profer solutions for implementation.

This was the submission of the General Overseer of Victory Life Bible Church, Abeokuta, Apostle Lawrence Achudume during the thanksgiving service of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Ogun State Information Chapel, 2021 Press Week.

The Minister of God called on journalists all over the world to stick to the ethics of the profession and do their job diligently because they are the true voice of the masses saying if they decide to keep quite when unjust acts are being perpetrated, then the voice of the masses is gone.

“Your job is risky because we live in an environment that doesn’t want the truth but we are praying for you that God will protect you”, Achudume added while encouraging the members of the fourth estate of the realm never to be afraid to speak the truth at all times so that we can have the real liberty in the nation.

Apostle Achudume while ministering on the topic “When trouble comes”, says troubles are common to men but he enjoined men of the pen profession that when it comes, God will come through for them as they rejoice in the God of their salvation.

Speaking during the thanksgiving service, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Information Chapel, Mr. Akinwale Olanrewaju appreciated God on behalf of the members for His love and mercies that endures forever and the leadership of the Church for the warm reception and support for the journalism profession.

Olanrewaju added that the yearly Press Week is an avenue for journalists come together to discuss salient issues affecting the society, bring such to the knowledge of the public as well as recommend possible solutions.
