Ogun police arrest ex convict for robbery


The Ogun police command said it had arrested Kehinde Shoboyede , an ex-convict  for alleged robbery related offences within Agbado in Ifo local government area of the state.

DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi,  the State Police Public Relations, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Sunday. 

According to Oyeyemi,  the suspect who was arrested on June 9 had earlier been arrested, charged to court and convicted for similar offence before, saying that not quite long after he was released from prison custody, the people of the area started noticing series of robbery incidents.

“On noticing this, the DPO Agbado division, SP Kuranga Yero, embarked on intelligence based investigation through which the detectives got clue leading to the suspect’s arrest.

“On interogation, he confessed been the person carrying out series of robbery operation in Agbado and it’s environs in collaboration with one man who he simply identified as Rafiu presently at large.

“Recovered from him are one cut to size locally made pistol, four live cartridges and one sharp knife,” he said. 

The Commissioner of Police,  CP Kenneth Ebrimson, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to the Special Anti Robbery Squads (SARS) for discreet investigation. 

He equally directed that Shoboyede’s partner in crime should be hunted for and brought to Justice.
