Accident claims 6 lives in Ogun

No fewer than six persons were confirmed dead in an accident involving a Tricycle and a truck around St. Anthony Grammar school,  Ijebu Imushin in Ijebu East local government area of Ogun on Saturday. 
Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi,  the Spokesperson of Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) confirmed the incident to newsmen  in Abeokuta on Sunday .

 Akinbiyi explained that the accident occurred around 5:52pm , saying that it was caused by wrongful overtaking on the part of the tricycle driver. 

He added that the accident involved seven persons,  saying that all the six persons in the tricycle which included one male adult,  one boy,  three female adults and one girl died in the accident. 

“According to eye witness, the tricycle rider overtook another tricycle and had head on collision with the incoming truck before the incident happened. 

” Six people were in the tricycle and all the six died with only the truck driver surviving the accident,

“The truck was set ablazed by the people after the incident but the truck driver was rescued to Itamogiri police station in Ijebu Imushin,” he said. 

Akinbiyi stated that the deceased were taken to Alayangbe private morgue in Ijebu Imushin.
