The Chairman, Transition Committee of Abeokuta South
Local Government, Ayodeji Shomide, has commended the governor of the state, Dapo Abiodun, for his commitment to fixing bad roads and constructing new ones across the state.
Shomide, who gave this commendation in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, on Monday, said the roads being embarked on by the governor would further open up the economy of the state.
He noted that the decision of the governor to continue with the road projects started but abandoned by the immediate past government of Sen Ibikunle Amosun, showed his resolve to making life a lot better for the people of the state.
The LG boss, however, said “it was therefore with unspeakable joy that the people of the local government received the governor on Saturday when he came around to inspect some of these laudable road projects in the local government”.
He said some of the road projects the governor inspected such as Kuto Flyover and service lanes, Fajol-Osara-Gbonagun Road, Idi Aba-Elite-Isale Ake Road among others, would go a long way in easing both human and vehicular movement as well as businesses in Abeokuta South local government.
“It is on this note that the people of Abeokuta South local government are reiterating their support and cooperation to the support of Dapo Abiodun-led administration; Ogun state had been under steady rise since the governor took over last year May”. Shomide stated.
