A 31-year-old woman has been sentenced to two years and six months by an Abeokuta Chief magistrate court for cutting her 5-year-old step daughter’s private part with razor blade in Abeokuta.
The convict, Omowunmi Ibrahim, who performed the act on the girl pleaded guilty to the offence.
The prosecutor, Abolade Bukonla, had told the court that the convict committed the offence at Adedotun area in Abeokuta.
According to the prosecutor, the offence was contrary to to and punishable under section 355 of the criminal code volume 1 laws of Ogun State of Nigeria, 2006.
Meanwhile, during trial session, the convict had alleged the girl to have been stealing meat from her pot of soup.
The girl, who had complained to her mother who was not leaving with her husband said the convict had severally been committing the act on her.
The Chief Magistrate, I. O Abudu, in her judgement said the act by the convict was evil.
She then sentenced the convict to two years and six months imprisonment without an option of fine.
