Assistance came the way of residents of Imedu Olori village, Mowe and Aseese town, Ibafo in Obafemi Owode Local Government area , as Ogun lawmaker, Mr Damilola Soneye , donated boreholes to the two communities.
Soneye , representing Obafemi Owode constituency, while donating the boreholes to the communities on Thursday , said that the facility was self-financed and not a constituency project.
Speaking to newsmen after the donation, the lawmaker said that it was part of his legislative duty to provide assistance in response to the yearnings of the people, thereby complementing Gov. Dapo Abiodun’s efforts at making life more meaningful to the people.
Soneye, while stressing the need to complement government’s efforts through the implementation of projects, in line with community demands, promised that more development projects would be facilitated to his constituency.
He added that the borehole projects were completed and 3000kva generator donated to be maintained by the communities.
“This is the request of the people and I want to assure them of good representation till the last minute of my tenure.
” There are ongoing projects on school buildings, markets and more boreholes to come. Our people are very happy within the communities and they really troop out to receive us for the commissioning of their request,” he said.
The Community Head (Baale) , Aseese Town, Jamiu Sonola, commended the lawmaker for the kind gesture, saying that he should continue to be a good representative of the people at the house of assembly.
The Baale of Imedu Olori, Mowe, Ramoni Sotayo , was also present at the commissioning.
