Ogun ICT bureau tasked on effective implementation of electronic filing system

Ogun State Bureau of Information Technology has been enjoined to synergize with the relevant agencies in the State, especially the Public Service Transformation Office, for the smooth implementation of Electronic Data Management System  (EDMS)- a structure targeted at digitizing filing system and correspondences in public service.

Members of the State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism led by Hon. Yusuf Adejojo, gave the charge today while appraising the performance of the Bureau in Abeokuta.The lawmakers sought for the need to ensure a holistic approach of indexing both archival and present files to monitor their flows in the various MDAs, with a view to further repositioning the public service for optimum performance in line with the e-governance plan of the Federal Government.
In his response, the Special Adviser to the Governor on ICT, Dayo Abiodun, while presenting the achievements of the Bureau within the period under review before the lawmakers, stated that it had carried out various human capital development programmes and ICT infrastructural projects, which had earned the State laurels from the Federal Government and regulatory agencies.
 Meanwhile, the Committee has tasked also the State Signage and Advertising Agency on the need to update its record and ensure the harmonisation of all its activities to block leakages with a view to ensuring increased revenue for government.
Also, the State Printing Corporation says it has resuscitated and updated some of its equipment to  meet with up the modern techniques in the printing business to generate more revenue to government’s coffers.
The Director Administration and Supplies, Mrs. Abike Akintunde, stated this while leading the Management Team to present the budget performance of the Corporation before the Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism led by Hon Yusuf Adejojo at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta. 
She assured that with the strategies now being adopted by the Corporation, the Corporation was better positioned for improved performance.
Responding, the House Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism led by Adejojo enjoined the Corporation to embark on strategies towards ensuring improved patronage so as to enhance its revenue base.
