A 34-year-old man, Monsuru Adebiyi, was on Thursday brought before an Abeokuta Magistrates’ Court in Ogun for allegedly stealing a phone worth N130, 000.
Adebiyi, whose address was not provided, is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, unlawful damage and stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Agboh Boniface, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on Jan. 9 at 3:15a.m at Oke-Ata area of Abeokuta.
Boniface said that the defendant broke into an apartment belonging to Mrs Yemisi Adesipe and stole a Techno P904 Phone valued at N130, 000.
He said the defendant also damaged the complainant’s window net valued at N5, 000.
Boniface said that the offences contravened Sections 451, 411, 383 and 390(9) of the Criminal Law of Ogun, 2006.
The Magistrate, Mr Olarewaju Onagoruwa, granted the defendant bail of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum.
Onagoruwa ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction with evidence of tax payments to Ogun Government.
He adjourned the case until Feb.12 for hearing.
