Mrs Sidiqat Adebowale , Msc graduate at the 2019 / 2020 convocation of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) has said that despite being married with children, she was able to survive her Masters programme due to her doggedness and commitment.
Adebowale stated this in an interview with OgunToday in Abeokuta.
She explained that it was not an easy task combining education with work and also ensuring that the children were well taken care of.
She expressed appreciation to her husband for the support rendered during the cause of her programme.
She urged married women to search and acquire more knowledge no matter the challenges , saying that education remains the bedrock of any developed nation.
“I was doing three different things and I was trying to bring them together at once .It had not been easy because I had to take the children to school,go to office and also go for lectures.
”Though it was not a smooth journey, I thank God I took up the challenges. If I had not taken the pain,I might not be where I am today.
”Education is the best legacy anywhere, reason as a Muslim, our Noble Prophet Muhammad (S.AW), told us to strive for knowledge even if it is as far as China.
“As a Muslim, you are expected to strive for more knowledge till you die. I dedicate this to Allah and my husband.
“I will advise my colleagues to strive for knowledge because you will not remain the same and the experience will assist in whatever you are doing and wherever you find yourself,” she said.
