Ogun traffic agency seeks Nigerian Army’s support on road safety and security


  The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) , on Thursday , asked for the cooperation of the Nigerian Army in keeping the roads within the state safe and providing security for lives and property of residents.

Mr Olaseni Ogunyemi, the Commander of  TRACE called for the cooperation and support when the Acting Commandant of 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Col. Godwin Nwamba paid him a visit at TRACE Headquarters in Abeokuta.

Ogunyemi explained that traffic management and safety on the roads is a collective responsibility, saying his agency would continue to work hand in hand with security agencies and sister agencies in ensuring safety of lives and property.

Nwamba in his remarks appreciated the efforts of TRACE on the roads toward ensuring free flow of traffic.

He promised that within his capacity, he would work with the agency to move the state forward in terms of traffic management and security.

He said it was necessary for him to have a tour of all the military and paramilitary agencies in Ogun to familiarize himself with them, for a smooth working relationship with them.

 “I am very much impressed, being a very new establishment in Ogun state, I must categorically tell you  that TRACE is doing much and they are very much active in the course of their duty.
“I am so impressed with the guard of honour I received today and I promise to provide more training for you.
“Whenever you are ready let them come to the barrack I will send somebody to come and train them.
“I promise we are going to work together cordially, whenever you have something to do with the military don’t hesitate to call in other to move the state forward in terms of traffic and security,” he said.
