Hon. Oluwole Adekunbi, House of Representatives aspirant for Remo Federal constituency for the 2023 general elections has warned youths to shun political apathy for there voice to be heard.
Adekunbi gave the warning while speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta on Thursday.
He urged Nigerian youths to set their priority right and take more than passing interest in the country’s politics if they ever wish to effect any desired change in the leadership of the country.
“This is a situation where the Nigerian youth with their huge population will fail to register for voter’s card while the few who registered will also choose to stay away on the election day leaving the business of the day for the elderly ones.
“I hereby use this medium to call on the good people of Ogun State especially Youths to come out en masse to partake in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) E-Registration to team up with people of like-minds with the sole aim of working out a leadership that will address various challenges confronting the country.
“I also need to say that many of our youths must get their acts right, many are after quick money and so they are into cyber crime, fraud, some are into cultism and other vices.
” The fact that you are a graduate does not mean that you can’t take up a vocational training, until we are useful to ourselves, we can’t say we want to serve the nation. We must spend our youthful day productively.
“As we know that no meaningful progress could be made in a chaotic environment, Nigerian youths must always shun violence and reject any offer from some selfish politicians to heat up the polity and thereby constituting clog in the wheel of progress of the country.
“Come out in masses to join the ongoing PDP E-Registration in preparedness for 2023 General Election ,” he said.
