Mr David Lanre, Idea Strategist on Wednesday urged the Federal government to invest more in digital infrastructure to support young people who had adopted technology as part of lifestyle.

Lanre spoke to newsmen at the sideline during South West Students Leadership Summit, held at the campus of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).

He noted that the whole world had turned digital and technology driven, saying that almost all sectors required technology to function effectively.

He added that digital infrastructure would support the development, ambition and dreams of any aspiring youths who already had the knowledge of technology.

Lanre mentioned sustainable internet facility and technological driven incubator hubs as some of the required incubator hubs to support the young people.

” It is easier for the government to be even relaxed based on the fact that these young people already know what to do, they only need a more conducive and digitalised environment.

” Government should invest more in sustainable internet facility for young people to explore the possibilities of their ambition.

” Government should invest in technological driven incubator hubs set in communities and streets, which will also assist the young people, “he said.

He commended the Federal government on efforts put in place so far in the development of technology in the country, saying that more could still be done and achieved.

Earlier, Micheal Oloyede, the Convener of the Summit, said that the programme
focused on impacting skills in leadership, technology and entrepreneurship on the students in order to succeed in all endevours of life.

Oloyede, the President of FUNAAB Student Union Government, explained that the leadership summit was organised to build better leaders of Nigeria in the area of quality and competence .
