The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says it has produced a total number of 28,135 National Drivers Licence for Ogun state applicants between January and October.
Mr Ahmed Umar, the State Sector Commander, disclosed this during a courtesy call on the Speaker, Ogun House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo , at the assembly complex, Abeokuta.
Umar added that the FRSC also produced 12,465 Vehicle Number Plates while it produced 88,404 Motorcycle Number Plates for the state government during the period under review.
He stated that the FRSC had contributed to the revenue generation of the state through the provision of these items.
On road traffic crashes, he said that 1,642 people involved in 698 crashes in the state during the period under review were rescued.
The sector commander explained that the command would continue to ensure safety on the roads with the support of state traffic agencies.
He called for improved support from Ogun state government.
Responding, the Speaker, lauded the FRSC for being proactive and supportive to state traffic agencies.
Oluomo tasked the Corps to engage and sensitise the State Chapter of the Association of Granite Suppliers and Haulers on the need to properly adhere to road traffic regulations including covering their content to avert causing danger for other road users.
He called on the officers to be diligent in the discharge of their duties, especially on highway.
The speaker assured that the Ninth Legislature would remain supportive to the corps in her collaborative step for improved service delivery.
