Ogun police parades 35 suspected rapist, murderer, robbers, cultism

The Ogun police command on Tuesday,   paraded 35 suspects for alleged rape, murder, armed robbery and cultism. 

The suspects include a 28 year – old Goddey Robinson who allegedly raped a lady, strangulated and pushed her into a ditch at Agbara in Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area of the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Kenneth Ebrimson paraded the suspects on Tuesday at the state headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

Ebrimson told journalists that the rape suspect after dumping the victim in a ditch, left her thinking she had passed on.

According to him, the victim regained her consciousness and shouted for help.

The CP explained that the victim who was later rescued, but suffered spinal cord injury, saying she is currently bedridden at Igbobi Orthopaedic Hospital, Lagos.

But the suspect while speaking with newsmen, denied alleged rape, saying the victim was his girlfriend.

“She was my girlfriend. She stayed under my roof for more than a year. Her siblings were aware. 

“We had minor issue and she left home angrily. While I was going to my work place on that fateful day, I met her on the road and accosted her. In the process, we had altercation. She held my cloth and when I was trying to force myself out of her hand, She fell into a carnal. I left her and moved on,” the suspect said.
Ten of the suspects were arrested for armed robbery, one for murder, while others were held for cultism.
Speaking on proliferation of arms, the CP gave residents in possession of arms and ammunition two months ultimatum to lay them down or risk arrest.
“I want to use this opportunity to appreciate the good people of Ogun State for their crucial and timely information, together we can make Ogun State a crime free state.
“The Command therefore pledges never to rest on its oars in waging war against any would be criminal who has made crime a lucrative business.

 The command has rolled out all in its arsenal to displace all criminally minded persons out of Ogun State and this we will achieve with the cooperation of all.”
