The Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), in Ogun, on Monday said an auto crash that occurred around Indomie axis, on Idiroko road, had claimed the lives of two people, while one other person sustained serious injuries.
The Public Relations Officer of TRACE, Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, told newsmen that the accident occurred around 8.10 a.m.
Akinbiyi explained that the accident was caused by a motorcyclist, who was en-route Oju-Ore,Ota, from Iyana-Iyesi, and who was riding against traffic following a gridlock around the area.
He said the motorcyclists, an articulated vehicle and a Honda car, were involved in the accident.
“According to eye witness account, learnt the Pillion Rider (Motorcyclist) was inbound Ojuore, Ota, from Iyana-Iyesi, around Winners axis, when he suddenly decided to face incoming traffic, by driving in a direction prohibited by traffic law (One Way) from Ojuoro to Idiroko, due to hold up.
“However, in the process of manoeuvring in between vehicles, including a tipper loaded with granite and the motorcycle in front of it, the tipper ran over them and the Pillion Rider and one of the Pillion Passengers he was carrying died on the spot.
