Abeokuta,  May 13,  2020 (NAN) The Ogun Assembly has appealed to property owners, especially landlords to consider giving succor to tenants through slashing of rent or outright exclusion of rents for three months during the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

Mr Olakunle Oluomo (APC–Ifo1),  the Speaker,  gave the appeal during plenary in Abeokuta on Wednesday.

Oluomo noted that it was important for house owners to consider the current situation in the country,  hence,  the need for the slash.

The speaker also  urged banks and other financial institutions to grant loan repayment holiday to operators of Small and Medium Scale Enterprises so as to ease the effect of the lockdown on their finances and business activities during the pandemic period.

The speaker also admonished the people to adhere strictly to laid down measures at reducing the spread of the virus in the state.
