Truck crushes 2 women to death on Lagos -Ibadan expressway


 Two women on motorcycle were on Saturday crushed to death in an accident involving a Mack truck and a motorcycle around Lotto, beside NNPC filling station on the Lagos – Ibadan expressway. 

Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi,  the Spokesperson,  Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta. 

Akinbiyi explained that the accident occurred around 8:02am , saying that the truck marked FST 984 XX had break failure,  lost control and hit the moving motorcycle with no number plate, killing the women.

According to eye witness, driver had break failure and lost control and crushed the motorcycle.

” The truck and the motorcycle were both on the outbound lane from Lagos when the crash happened due to break failure on the  part of the truck driver.

“The accidented vehicle and the motorcycle are with the police at the Redeemed Police Station with the driver of the truck,” he said. 

The TRACE spokesman explained that the rider of the motorcycle was no where to be found after the accident. 

He added that  the bodies of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, OOUTH,  Sagamu.
