Comrade Bola Lawal,  State Secretary , Nigerian Union of Pensioners,  Ogun Chapter, has denied reports credited to him calling Gov. Dapo Abiodun an “ingrate” as reported in an online publication,  Penpushing media .

Lawal stated this in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Monday.

“My attention has been drawn to a PEN PUSHING online publication of 17th April 2020. The publication  described His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun as an ‘Ingrate’ and credited to the  Radio interview  I had with SPLASH F. M.  106.7(OJU-ABE) on the 16th April, 2020.

“It is necessary to say that I never granted Penpushing publication any interview, and if it  is interested in culling news from other source, this should have been done with decency and decorum.

“It is very embarrassing that the reporter should descend so low to debase the integrity of journalism by his obnoxious reportage.

” In the programme under reference, I did not at any point described Gov. Dapo Abiodun as an ingrate, I wonder what brought about the insinuation by the online medium.

“In view of above mentioned, I wish to state that the publication is a figment of the reporters imagination and as such the online publication  would do well to withdraw the statement as credited to me.

” While an unreserved apology is tendered to His Excellency,  Governor Dapo Abiodun MFR within 48 hours from the date of this press release,” he said.
