Abeokuta, March 18, 2020 (NAN) The Nigeria Medical Association ( NMA ) in collaboration with the Ogun Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on Wednesday began a sensitisation training in public and private schools in the state on corona virus.
Speaking at one of the schools in Abeokuta, Dr Ismail Lawal, Chairman, NMA in Ogun underscored the need for the public to be aware of the appropriate measures in the prevention of the dreaded virus.
Lawal noted that it was important to create more awareness especially in schools across the state on the dangers associated with the virus.
He appealed to school heads, heads of Guardian and Counseling unit and non teaching staff not to miss out on any important information as regards the virus, saying they were expected to pass on such to their pupils.
He advised that hand sanitizers, soap and water should be made available in all schools and proper sanitary conditions encouraged across the state to curb the spread of the virus .
The Director of Education, Support Services in the Ministry , Mr Ashiru Olamilekan , said participants were drawn from all public and private Schools in the state.
He informed that the sensitisation programme was aimed at exposing them to the necessary steps to be taken to prevent an outbreak of the virus.
