Mr Adegoke Adeyanju, Member, Ogun House of Assembly on Saturday donated health care equipments and items to hospitals in Yewa North local government area of the state.
Speaking with newsmen after the donation, Adeyanju noted that the essence of the donation was to support the state government’s effort in the health sector.
Adeyanju, representing Yewa North 1 at the assembly under the platform of African Democratic Congress (ADC) ,explained that it was important to provide necessary items and equipments to hospitals.
“During my campaigns and when we went to some hospitals , what I saw was pathetic and I immediately made up my mind that if God give me victory, I will try my best to give back to the society.
“We are just privileged to be where we are today . Whatever we do today is going to be history tomorrow . I want my people to support me with prayers so that I can do more, ” he said.
The lawmaker , Chairman, House Committee on Health, noted that the items were shared according to the demands of the hospitals.
He commended Gov. Dapo Abiodun on achievement recorded so far in the health sector since assumption to office, saying that it was important to support the governor in that direction.
OgunToday reports that the items were distributed to General Hospital, Ayetoro and nine Primary Health Centres across Yewa North State Constituency 1 in Yewa North local government area of the state.
The primary health centres were Agboro Church village , Igan Okoto, Igbogila, Komi-Oba in Ibese , Imasayi , Iboro , Joga, Ijaka – Oke , Ijaka – isale.
OgunToday reports that the equipments donated included Filled Oxygen Gas, Mattresses , Iron Hospital beds , Baby Scales , Adult Scales ,Generators, Accosson Swig table BP.
Others were Filled Oxygen Cylinder and Gauge Filling , Adult and Child Oxygen Mask , Plastic Chairs and Kerosene Stoves.
Appreciating the lawmaker, Dr Maku Olawale, the Head of General Hospital, Ayetoro, commended him for the kind gesture, saying that the donation would go a long way in assisting the hospital .
He stated that government could not do it alone, hence, the need for other philanthropists and well to do people to support the government in providing basic facilities for the betterment of the people.
