Ogun LG: Chairmanship aspirant promises job creation, empowerment 


A Chairmanship aspirant for Abeokuta South  Local Government Area,  Adekunle Olujimi , has said his priority if given the opportunity to serve, will be job creation and empowerment of the youths in the area.
Olujimi (aka Desmond) disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Abeokuta on Sunday.
He said as an astute business man, he would employ his vast experience to harness the untapped abundant resources in the local government for its development.

He said he had been a respected leader in the various organisation he had worked,  saying that he would contribute meaningfully to the growth and development of Abeokuta South local government if elected as the chairman.

Olujimi,   the MD/CEO Power oil and Gas Nig. LTD said he was driven by his passion for the people to seek the elective office just as he expressed  confidence that with God on his side he would triumph.

“My major priority if elected is to empower the youths through skills acquisition, assist our women with soft loans to improve their businesses and harness the untapped abundant resources in the local government for its development.

“Abeokuta local government is rich and if we are able to harness its abundant resources, we don’t need to depend on what comes from the federation account.

“I think the best thing is to give back to the community what the community has given you in the time past.
“I have a plan, vision and mission to be the Abeokuta south chairman to atleast build the new future of our people.
“I want to look at how we can reduce the level of poverty because I can’t say we can stop it, but if we have a particular chairman that can easily go to Governor and demand for people’s want,  because what I really want to do is to fight for the interest of my people.
“With this, there is tendency that we have a new future and I am willing to be because I am willing to serve,”he  said.
Olujimi,  who is also a member of the Lion’s club International urged the Federal government to make the economy work,  saying that security was not the major challenges confronting the country but economy
He said that the government should device means of reaching out to the masses.
