The opposition group, Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) on Thursday, alleged that the ruling government and in connivance with the Kaduna State government have yet to release the Shiites leader Mallam Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife from detention, with plan to ensure that he dies in prison custody.
The opposition group decleared that this was contrary to public posturing of the Federal Government and their security agencies that they have obeyed the order.
In a release signed by Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere Opposition, the Coalition Spokesperson hinted that a new intelligence report of a well calculated plot by the APC Government in connivance with Kaduna State Government led by Governor El-rufai to frustrate the court order granting bail to Mallam Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife and continue to keep them in detention with new strange legal demands unknown to law and designed to ensure the Shiites leader remains and dies in illegal detention eventually by been denied access to needed urgent medical attention has been obtained.
“The arrow head of this plot is Gov. El-rufai led Kaduna State Government working with the Federal Government by demanding and filing a frivolous strange  application on diplomatic issues and other impossible demands and also actually varying the order of court granting immediate release, all in a bid to keep the Shiites leader whose health has worsened in detention and possibly lead to his death which is inevitable if he does not get urgent medical treatment.
“This fragrant violation of law and order is how our nation has turned into poverty capital of the world, headquarters of killer bandits in West Africa, corruption centre, nepotism hub etc.
“We are ruled today by men who learnt their politics from ruthless dictators and a political party that does not understand the requirements of constitutional democracy and is working to surpass the record of Mobutu Seseseko’s, Idi Amin’s, Blaise Campore’s, Paul Biya’s ruling parties. Let us make this clear, the opposition will not stand by and watch as these autocrats destroy the last vestiges of our democracy.
“This is a constitutional government and not a farming field that belongs to Buhari and El-Rufai. These shenanigans must stop; this pushing of people to wall must stop.
“The Republic is sliding into total anarchy and the president must stop this and call his errand boys to order.
“Kaduna State government must learn to obey the Courts and cannot sit on appeal over the order of the High Court of Kaduna. If anything happens to Mallam Ibraheem El-Zakzaky while in custody, Nigerians should hold President Buhari and Gov. Nasir El-Rufai responsible for the consequences of their government contemptuous action.”
