Oshoala makes history as Nigeria picks first win at Women’s World Cup


Nigeria female national football team, -the Super Falcons have won their first game at the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France.

The Nigerian girls thrashed their counterparts from Korea Republic 2 goals to nill, in a crucial Group A clash in Grenoble.

Kim Doeyon opened scoring in 29th minute of the first half, before Asisat Oshoala sealed victory after the break following a counter-attack.

The Super Falcons now have three points, following their 3-0 loss to Norway in the first game.

The Nigerian ladies will next take on host nation France in their last group match

The match threw up a history as Asisat Oshoala became the second Nigerian player to score in two different Women’s World Cup tournaments.

Chidinma Okeke chipped the ball past the South Korean defense in the 75th minute and Oshoala chased it down, slipped past Hwang Bo-ram and drew the keeper off her line before sliding it into an open goal from a tight angle.
