276views
In its earnest attempt to ensure sanity, as well as, safe and responsible driving, devoid of carnage on Ogun State Traffic Corridor, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, TRACE, has appointed 9 Area Commanders along the Ogun Traffic Strip .
The appointment would guarantee safety of lives and property of road users who daily ply the Gateway State, particularly road reconstruction sites, diversion routes, in addition to boarder towns and communities, which serve as a link/gateway to other states and country while the 9th Area Commander was appointed to be in charge of Training and Public Education.
TRACE Corps Commander/Chief Executive, Cdr. ‘Seni Ogunyemi, stated this at the decoration ceremony of 304 newly promoted officers and men, at the Valley View Auditorium, Isale-Igbein, Abeokuta.
According to Cdr. Ogunyemi, the need to understand and appreciate the dynamics of modern traffic management, with its attendant challenges on safety of lives and property of the general public, especially the motoring public, in an economic investment driven state like ours, has made it incumbent on TRACE Corps to rise to the challenge by deploying seasoned and knowledgeable traffic managers as Area Commanders along the Ogun Traffic Corridor.
The TRACE boss noted that they were expected  to bring their wealth of experience in operations and logistic to bear, in order to arrest the perennial traffic snarl, loss of man hour on the road, clearance of incumberances  obstructing human and vehicular traffic and road traffic crashes, so as to ensure prompt rescue of victims during emergencies.
He also reiterated that the establishment of the 8 Area Cammands, under the supervision of 8 Area Commanders would further enhance the core mission of TRACE Corps, which is anchored on effective and efficient service delivery, geared towards promoting operational efficiency and enhance commerce through sustainable investment growth.
Moreover, the impact of the TRACE Corps Community Based Traffic Management Scheme would also be better felt at boarder towns and communities, where road  safety education awareness is low and needs to be driven and pushed.
