The Olu of Lisa in Ifo Local Government area of Ogun state, Oba Najeemdeen Odugbemi , has appealed to Gov. Dapo Abiodun to urgently fix the deplorable Lisa road in Ifo.
The traditional ruler made the appeal while speaking with newsmen during the celebration of Igunnuko festival held at his palace in Ifo.
Odugbemi stated that the road had been in bad state since the administration of former governor Gbenga Daniel , saying that the road needed urgent construction.
He noted that the dilapidated state of the road had affected economic activities in the community.
The traditional ruler begged the state government to focus more on access road , adding that there should be easy transportation of farm produce from the community to the buyers.
“Ogun State has a big challenges when it comes to deficit in infrastructure , it should not be peculiar to only my community .
” If you go to every local government in Ogun State we have the same thing . We have to encourage government to put more effort in making sure that the most important road that the government should focus on are the access road.
” Most of the farmers here don’t have much money to do farming and the little one they have they are not able to transport it.
“There will be no development if there’s no road infrastructure anywhere . Road, electricity, that’s the basic factors . I think we should encourage them to do more, ” he said.
On the issue of ritual killings, the traditional ruler stressed that the elders were the cause of the problem because of the wealth they flaunted unnecessarily on social media.
“If the family unit can get it wrong, the whole community will get it wrong, if whole community get it wrong, the country at large will get it wrong .
“We all have to imbibe good virtues on our children and people living around you .
Oba Odugbemi, therefore advised security agent to change their mode of operation towards crime.
He also urge the government to engage traditional institution in order to cub insecurity in the country .
The traditional ruler commended Gov. Dapo Abiodun’s giant stride towards restructuring the state.
