Stakeholders laud Ogun deputy speaker for empowering over 400 constituents

Stakeholders including elder statemen, political leaders, monarchs, community leaders and youth groups have lauded the Deputy Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, who is a member representing Ogun Waterside State Constituency, Hon. Akeem Balogun for matching effective representation with empowerment of over 400 constituents as well as facilitation of more democratic dividends to the people .

The Chairman of the Local Government, Mudashiru Adekunle, a former Vice-Chancellor Tai Solarin University of Education, (TASUED) Prof. Segun Awonusi, former Commissioner for Rural Development and Falilu Sabitu took turn to commend the Deputy Speaker during an empowerment programme he organised to uplift the socio-economic status of his constituents at Abigi.

Others including the Ojotumoro of Abigi, Oba Olusegun Ogunye, the Leader of the Legislative Council, Felix Okeowo, a party chieftain, Abiola Logere said that the Deputy Speaker had changed the narrative through the entrenchment of good governance by adopting all-inclusive approach to representation of his people at the State House of Assembly.

They admonished beneficiaries of the empowerment items and cash to make judicious use of the items and continue to support the Prince Dapo Abiodun led-administration.

In his remarks at the event, the Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, described Balogun as a dependable lieutenant, who possessed enviable leadership values, counseling the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture with improved loyalty and support to the government.

While appealing to the constituents that Lawmakers in the Ninth Legislature were yet to access their respective Constituency project allowance, Oluomo assured them that more developmental projects would be embarked upon immediately the State Government made the provision of such to the legislative arm.

Earlier in his speech, the Deputy Speaker lauded the unwavering support of his constituents, which he noted had resulted in the facilitation of democratic dividends to the people across the ten wards of the local government.

He noted that the self-financed empowerment was borne out of his commitment to always identify and address the immediate needs of his constituents, saying the empowerment items like sewing machines, grinding machines, hair dryers, barbing clippers, knapsack sprayers and cash to 50 people amongst others were meant to uplift their business enterprises.
