Police parade 25 for various offence in Ogun

The police command in Ogun on Monday paraded no fewer than 25 suspected criminals arrested for various offences.

Parading the suspects at the command headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, the Commissioner of Police , Lanre Ogunlowo, said the suspects were arrested for offences which included kidnapping, murder , cultism among others.

He noted that all the arrest were achieved within the last three weeks.

The police commissioner paraded one Afeez Ayeteru who he said entered the apartment of 80-year-old woman, Aduke in Ado Odo Ota and allegedly beheaded her with a knife.

” Responding swiftly to distress call, the police  rushed to the scene.  As the suspect attempted to flee, a neighbor raised an alarm, enabling officers to apprehend him,” he said.

Ogunlowo also paraded 45-year-old twin brothers, Taiwo Yemitan and Kehinde Yemitan who he alleged to have killed one Darasimi, female, dismembered her body parts for rituals.

The police commissioner noted that the incident occurred at Lafenwa area of Abeokuta, saying that the suspects confessed to the crime.

Speaking, one of the twin brothers, Taiwo Yemitan, confessed to the crime.

He said the victim was his friend and she would be the first she would be killing, saying that, though he used to selling human parts killed by another person.

The commissioner of police said that the suspects  would face charges in court once the investigation was completed.

Ogunlowo urged the people of the state to continue providing timely information to aid the efforts of the police in preventing and addressing criminal activities.

He issued a stem warning to criminals in the state, saying that the police in Ogun was ready to flush them out.

”  We will not hesitate to take action against those who refuse to comply,” he said
