A religious group, The Community Christ Ambassadors Evangelical Team (CCAET), on Monday distributed food items to 100 vulnerable residents of Faji, Okuku, Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun.
The group’s coordinator, Pastor Oyewole Adegoke, told newsmen at the palace of the Afaaji of Faji, Oba Moshood Olaleke II, that the gesture was to spread God’s love.
According to him, the group’s ultimate goal is to fulfil the great commission in Matthew 28: 19-20.
“We intend to reach every household in our community with the love and message of Christ,” he said.
Adegoke said the 16-member group held its maiden open crusade in the town from Saturday to Monday.
He said 150 souls were won to Christ during the 3-day crusade, tagged ‘Faji Community Crusade’.
“We also held a medical outreach where free healthcare services were provided to those in need.
“We provided free diagnostic and administrative drugs services to over 150 individuals in the first two days of the crusade,” he said.
In addition to the medical outreach and the distribution of food items, he said the group intended to empower jobless youths in the future.
Meanwhile, the Afaaji of Faji thanked the group for hosting the different programmes and reaching out to the vulnerable residents in his domain.
Olaleke said he appreciated the cost implication of the charity outreach because he was also given to organising such programmes.
He then admonished the government to embrace such charitable programmes.
