Gov. Abiodun’s wife to hold Adire market week April 7 to April 9


The Office of the Ogun State First Lady and the Ajose Foundation will hold the First Lady’s Adire Market Week in Abeokuta between Thursday, April 7 and Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta.

A release from the Office of the first lady stated that the event will showcase and promote authentic adire products from 150 exhibitors would attract 5,000 local and international participants.

According to the release, the market week will equally feature a fashion exhibition, as part of activities scheduled for the opening and the closing ceremony.

The Press Officer, Office of the Ogun State first Lady, Mrs Kemi Oyeleye , stated that the event is “organized to build on the gains of the successful launch of the, promote financial inclusion for women-owned businesses, enhance the tourism potentials in the state and further help Ogun State continue to set the pace as the adire capital of the world”.

According to the release, the wife of the Vice President, Mrs, Dolapo Osinbajo, will be the Special Guest of Honour at the occasion and will also be graced by a cultural icon and outstanding adire trader, Chief Nike Davies Okundaye.
