The role of Women in sustaining the ISEYA agenda of the Ogun state government cannot be over emphasized as the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has alluded that the success of the administration was made possible by the loyalty and commitment of the Spouses of Ogun State Functionaries Association, SOSGFA, in the state.

The Governor stated this while playing host to the executive members of the association, led by the President, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun in his office.
Governor Abiodun who specially commended the leadership style of his Wife, which according to him, contributed to the successes recorded in the activities of the association, expressed satisfaction at the massive support given his administration by the association through its complementary programs.
The Governor said members of the association were worthy ambassadors who had added value, and kept the flag of the administration high, in the last 3 years, noting that they had lived up to expectation .
He identified them as worthy partners, capable of supporting government, to build a viable future for the state, urging them not to rest on their oars but continue to add value to good governance in the State.
Governor Abiodun called on the Women to encourage their husbands to lead by good example by exhibiting transparency, modesty, accountability, probity honesty and decorum as qualities of good leaders, in the course of administration.
He admonished them to avert lapses, care for the home front and bring up ideas that would be practicable as the electioneering period approached.
“As we approach the electioneering year, this period calls for more demonstration of love, understanding, devotion. Avert lapses, care for the children and come up with practicable ideas that will bring more empowerment to the people.” He said.
He promised to look into the various demands of the association, to further enhance their functions and efficiency , in the service of the state.
The First Lady and President of SOSGFA, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun in her remark, appreciated her husband, the Governor and the government,for the tremendous support given to the association and its programs, geared towards the well-being of the women folk in the last 3 years.
While presenting the association’s compendium titled “SOSGFA- The Journey So Far”, to the Governor, Mrs. Abiodun emphazised the role of the association, stating that the vision was to support the work of government in carrying the women along the journey of programs and development.
The Secretary of the association, Mrs. Aderinola Talabi, in her presentation, reeled out the achievements of the association in the last 3 years which included empowerment of widows across the state, empowerment of women entrepreneurs, credit facilities to female owned SMEs, girl Child empowerment, care of special needs children and people with disabilities and launch of Adire Week, among others.
She further presented the association’s requests that included Women participation in decision making, prompt release of counterpart funding for the UNFPA programs ,for the organization to achieve its mandate of ending preventable diseases, among women and children as well as curbing gender based violence among others.
