The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has urged motorists to upgrade their driver’s licenses in accordance with the class in which they fit into.

Mr Ahmed Umar, the Ogun Sector Commander stated this in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Friday by the command’s Public Education Officer, Florence Okpe.

Umar noted that the FRSC had observed that most drivers especially the articulated vehicle drivers drove with class C or E licenses instead of class G which is the recommended class for truck drivers.

“The FRSC has taken this observation into consideration by sensitising the motoring public on the proper class of license to be obtained.

“The requirements needed for a driver to upgrade his driver’s license to the appropriate class are as follows.

“The person must be 26 years old and above, have an ID card and letter of introduction from your place of work ( Transport union, Fleet operators company and so on), and a copy of the previous license for upgrading.

“And a medical report from a government hospital,” he said.

Umar appealed to motorists to obey the laws by obtaining the right driver’s license, saying that a joint task force would be going out for the enforcement after this release.

He warned that any motorist apprehended flouting traffic rules and regulations might be treated as driving dangerously and could be prosecuted.
